H.W.Daendels Reign
H.W. Daendels was a Governor General who ruled in Nusantara
(Indonesia) in 1808-1811. Daendels duty to keep the land of Java that are not
controlled by the British. He was a leader appointed by the Government of the
Republic Bataaf, Daendels should improve government administration and also
strengthen the defense, also socio-economic life in the archipelago
(Indonesia), especially in Java.
H.W. Daendels was the liberals and patriots of Holland ang
highly influenced by the teachings of the French Revolution. Daendels not
forget to quote the slogan of the French Revolution in every speech. He wanted
to instill the Indian community spirit equations, liberty, and fraternity.
Therefore he wanted to crush Feudalism practices. It is intended to be more
productive and dynamic community for the benefit of the mother country
(Republic Bataaf). This is done to limit the right-regent haknpara associated with
mastery over the use of the people's power and control over land and prevent
any abuse of power.
Daendels do some strategic measures, especially concerning
public administration, defense and security, social and economic.
